Anthony James Partners is a dynamic company; the principals of the company have successfully managed major technology installations for some of the highest-profile sports venues and entertainment events in the marketplace. The professionals that make up our team represent a broad scope of industry experience. Our combined backgrounds in technology, marketing, contract negotiations and construction afford AJP a unique perspective when approaching major purchases and large-scale projects. MICHAEL ROWE, PRINCIPAL
In 2003, Michael formed an independent consulting firm to manage large-scale technology and construction projects for the University of Virginia and the San Antonio Spurs among several other high-profile technology projects. Prior to his career as a consultant and owner’s representative, Michael established the sports divisions for LED sales in North America for Lighthouse Technologies and Philips Electronics. Over the past fifteen years, Michael has successfully designed, built and integrated technology contracts for some of the largest sports and entertainment companies in North America. Mike moved to the United States from Canada in 1994 as part of a senior project-development team for Trizec Hahn, the largest publicly traded real estate company in North America. Earlier in his career, Michael was in charge of business development for Recreational Services International (RSI), where he negotiated public/private partnerships between Canadian municipalities, union organizations and private management firms.
RALPH MCBARRON, PRINCIPAL
In January of 2003, Ralph was named CEO of Action Sports Media after 3 years as Vice President and General Manager. He led the company through its most significant period of growth and negotiated its sale in 2005, subsequently serving 18 months as an advisor to the new ownership. ASM held contracts with many major collegiate athletic departments, including sponsorship and broadcast rights in many of the country’s largest venues. Ralph led negotiations for naming rights, pouring rights and large-scale branding contracts with a variety of corporations. Additionally, ASM facilitated the installation of large-screen video, advertising and information technology into more than 20 stadiums and arenas. In 1992, Ralph founded ESPN’s University Rights division and served as
its Director until 2000. He started his career in sports venue, broadcast and marketing management in
1986 with Host Communications.
FRANK MORASKI, JR. , PRINCIPAL
In 1997, Frank co-founded ANC Sports and served as Executive Vice President for seven years, managing both the operations and research/development departments. A leading company in the sports signage and marketing field, ANC Sports specializes in LED Video Screens, LED Fascia advertising displays and rotational signage. The operations department utilized a large staff of employees located in more than 100 sports facilities throughout North America and was responsible for installations, project management, game operations, service and maintenance. Prior to ANC Sports, Frank spent five years with Dorna USA, a sports marketing and rotational signage company. As Vice President of Operations for Dorna USA, Frank was responsible for the initial structuring of the service and operations department and managing a staff of over 40 signage operators located at various sports venues around the country. In 1988, Frank earned a BS in Business from Montclair State College, and in 1991 a MA in Sports Management
from St. Thomas University.
DIRECTORS
FRED W. GRAY, DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
Fred has more than 20 years experience in the commercial general construction industry on both small and large-scale projects working for a variety of entities including Government, Owner/Operators, and Private Developers. Fred spent 5 and a half years working for Barton Malow Company as part of the project/design/construction management teams on Philips Arena, PNC Park, Gillette Stadium, and Agganis Arena at Boston University. Prior to joining AJP, Fred was the Operations Manager, for Mitsubishi Electric Power Products’ Diamond Vision Systems Division, responsible for the installation of Diamond Vision LED displays in the USA and Canada. In 1990, Fred earned a BA in Business Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, and in 1997 a MS in Construction from Southern Polytechnic State University.
MICHAEL MARTIN, DIRECTOR OF BROADCAST ENGINEERING
Michael’s qualifications come from a diverse 30 year background in and around the entertainment industry. Michael began as an installation technician/operator then became the Senior Engineer for several integration companies including Marriott Productions, Walt Disney World and The Whitlock Group. He has been the principle designer on projects ranging from complete hotel systems to complete multi-broadcasting facilities. He also served as a sustaining engineer for both Marriott and Walt Disney World serving with their maintenance groups providing the technical experience on preventative maintenance as well as troubleshooting to bring a system back up. One of Michael’s recent projects was the design and engineering of the broadcast control and operations center for the National Champions University of Alabama.
LARRY LUCAS, DIRECTOR OF AUDIO ENGINEERING
Larry Lucas has 20+ years experience in the audio and broadcast industry working with sports, entertainment, military, government and private entities. He also holds a US Secret Clearance. Prior to joining AJP, Larry worked with such companies as AVI-SPL, R. Orange Engineering, and Pro Sound. His diverse background in broadcast, sound reinforcement, A/V, RF and fiber/data infrastructure give him a well-rounded knowledgebase for the design phase of the project. Hands-on training and education also provides Larry the experience necessary to monitor quality control during the installation phase of any project. Larry holds several industry related certifications including Peavey Nion, Clear One, BIAMP, Nortel, Belden and BARCO CMS. His continuing education keeps him in a position to provide leading edge solutions to any challenges that may arise in any phase of the project.
KEVIN PATEY, CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Kevin is a 5 year veteran of AJP and has more than 10 years experience in the sign industry, primarily in entertainment venues and for design for national sign programs. His modern aesthetic philosophies have brought unique and innovative designs to an industry that has a tendency to rely on cookie-cutter solutions. Kevin’s scoreboard designs can be seen in some of the most prestigious venues across North America.
MARK ROBERTS, DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Mark Roberts has been in the LED video and lighting manufacturing industry for more than a decade as a sales-manager for Philips-Color Kinetics and Lighthouse Technologies. Mark has managed high-profile sports and spectacular installations across the world including major stadiums across the United States and the largest LED screen installations in Central America. Mark’s background with Philips Lighting gives him strong knowledge and insights into LED manufacturing processes, lighting design/controls and integrated digital sign networks. Mark holds a B.A. in Finance and Economics and was a scholarship-athlete at University of South Carolina.
